Erin and Mat Wedding

First off let me say that I was so happy to do this wedding. Erin is the sister of one of my wife’s best friends in dental school. This wedding took place in Oklahoma City…a place where my wife and I are very familiar with.:) This wedding was a little different in that we did the couples shoot before the ceremony. As you can see in the first few pics this is where Mat and Erin first saw each other…..so glad I captured this! We started the couples shoot at the Myriad Gardens and made our way down to Brick Town where we ended up at Nonna’s . The ceremony took place on the balcony of Nonna’s, and it was such a beautiful ceremony. The cupcakes were so adorable and were done by Sugar OKC. This was such a great day and I had a great time with the new couple. They did Awesome! Thanks so much guys and I wish you all the best on your new life together.

Meet Christina

Here is Miss Christina a.k.a. Stina! Christina will also be graduating Broken Arrow High School next week and was also a member of the FFA club that my sister-in-law Jaden was part of. Stina will be attending Oklahoma State University in the fall and has plans to become a Vet. As always we went downtown, but this time I made it a point to ‘scout out’ some new locations, and I am happy to say that I found a few new favorite spots. Stina, I had a great time and I thank you for letting me photograph your Senior portraits.

Taylor Senior Shoot

Meet Taylor Weight who will be graduating Broken Arrow High next week! As you can see by the pictures, Taylor loves playing the guitar and is really really good at it! In many of the pics I told him to just play something, and a few times he played Black Bird by the Beatles. I could not believe how good it sounded and that is a hard song to play (being a guitar player as well). He is also joining a band that is not yet named but I am sure we will be hearing from them very soon. I had a great time with the Weight family and wish Taylor much luck on his future plans.

Meet Nick

Tis the season of high school senior portraits! Last week I had a great time photographing Nick who is graduating Union High School in Tulsa. This was such a fun shoot and Nick is quite the comedian. Nick told me he plans of moving to Ohio to attend college after graduation even though I was trying to talk him into OU. :) Nick thanks so much for letting me capture your personality and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Kelsey and Chris Wedding Day

What a beautiful country wedding this was. I had the pleasure of photographing this wedding in Adair OK last weekend and had such a great time with Kelsey and Chris. It was actually quite worrisome because we were having such heavy rains and bad storms that weekend, but luckily the rain decided to hold up for the wedding. …..but I can’t say the same for the wind. The whole wedding took place at Kelsey’s grandparents property…and man….it is beautiful out there. There is an old wooden barn (you will see in some of the pics) that I absolutely love and It makes for such a cool and unique backdrop. It was a great day and I thank Kelsey and Chris for letting me capture this special time.

My New Found Love….Again.

As photographers we all get acustomed to using certain lenses that we deem as our ‘favorite go to’. Mine is the 24-70 2.8. This is a great lens and has a really great zoom range for wide angle to portrait. But lately I have been falling in love all over again with one of the first lenses I ever bought……my 50mm 1.8. This lens is just awesome and takes super sharp pics even at a wide open aperture at 1.8. Shooting at an aperture this large is what gives the really blurry backgrounds that we all love in portraits. On top of that, the lens (due to its large aperture) lets you shoot in low light situations without using a flash. Here are a few shots I took oner the weekend of Ayden and Kai with the 50. My next big purchase is definitely going to be one of Nikons classic portrait lenses…the 85mm 1.4. Check back soon because I will soon be posting some of my most recent shoots, including a wedding. Stonewood Cafe

So you want a great cup of coffee and a great little atmosphere……..well check out one of my favorite places……Stonewood Cafe! Conveniently they are right next to my wife’s dental office in the village shopping center! Not only can you get great coffee but now they have a full menu, and extensive wine and beer list, and live music! Every six months they feature local artist work on the walls and this time my work is up there! Yay! If you go to the back wall you will see some of my work. Well I never pass up an opportunity to take pics of my wife’s baby sister Jaden…..well she’s really not a baby anymore! Jaden will be attending Oklahoma State University as a freshmen in the fall and she is really excited. During her senior high school years she was a member of the FFA organization and has turned into an expert at caring for and showing sheep. This shoot was the last time Jaden was going to be with her sheep before her last show in OKC. Hope she doesn’t miss her sheep too much!
